Google Ads keywordsSo, we all know that Google Ads is one of the best ways to market your products and services today. Google shows our ads to the people who are searching for particular products and/or services using those specific keywords. That’s why while selecting keywords, we have to take into account some factors which in turn help us to target our product/service to the exact type of customers that we’re looking for.
While selecting keywords, we should keep in mind the volume for those keywords and the market competition for those keywords. We should add those keywords to our campaigns that have a high search volume and have low or medium competition. Of course, low competition keywords are the best. Also, if a keyword has a monthly search volume of approx. 1000, then it is considered to be a good keyword. For example, if we are running a search campaign for study room chairs, we can type ‘best study room chairs’ or ‘study room chairs’ or ‘study chairs’. We then need to check the volume and competition for these keywords and select those which have a high volume and a low competition.
Keyword competition or paid difficulty is the difficulty that Google has to place our ad on the first page. There are basically three or rather four types of keywords.
1. Broad match keywords
2. Phrase match keywords
3. Exact match keywords
4. Broad match keywords

Broad Match Keywords:
Broad match keywords are those keywords that are like a general search term typed in google. For example, if we are looking for Acne treatment doctor, and we type ‘skin specialist’ it is a general term. Or if we type ‘Acne doctor’ it’s a general search or broad match term. Whereas if we type, ‘[Acne doctor], it’s an exact match. It means that only if a person types ‘Acne doctor’ our ad is going to show to him/her.
An example of a phrase match would be +Acne +treatment, or +Acne +doctor. A phrase match means that that particular phrase should be a part of the person’s search term.
So these are various types of keywords that we should select carefully while creating our ads.

How to do keywords research?
There are various tools available to do keyword research. E.g. we can do keyword research on Semrush, Ubersuggest and we can also do keyword research on google keyword planner. In your google ads platform, select tools & settings from the top menu, then go to ‘planning’ and then go to ‘keyword planner’.
In the keyword planner tool, you can search for various keywords related to your business by typing certain keywords and also by putting your website url in the search. By putting your website url, google will fetch all the related keywords related to your website.
